Addressing the Challenges of Deepfake Technology in Society

As artificial intelligence (AI) technologies advance, the emergence of deepfake content poses profound challenges across society. This keynote addresses the dual-edged nature of AI, highlighting its transformative potential in communication while exposing vulnerabilities in trust and authenticity. Deepfakes, capable of fabricating realistic images and videos, threaten personal privacy and public safety, raising alarm for law enforcement agencies. We will explore the implications of deepfake technology on crime, misinformation, and societal cohesion, emphasizing the urgent need for proactive strategies. By fostering collaboration between technologists and law enforcement, we can develop effective measures to safeguard our communities and preserve the integrity of information in the digital age.
