Marc-André Ryter holds a degree in political science from the University of Lausanne and followed postgraduate studies in security policy in Geneva and Rome. He has been working at the Ministry of Defense of Switzerland in the fields of large-scale military exercises, operations and doctrine for many years. His academic background also involves several years of research at the University of Helsinki and at the National Defence College of the Finnish Armed Forces, where he focused on humanitarian intervention and crisis management. He also took part in peace support operations in FYROM, Kosovo and South Korea. Lately, he has been focusing on the impact of new technologies on the armed forces and on doctrine.
